Alexander Galkin
The Head of the Department, D.Sc., Prof.
Alexander Galkin is a specialist in medical biotechnology and bioengineering, as well as pharmacy. He carries out research in the field of molecular immunology, biotechnology, biochemistry; he is developing technologies of biological products.
He graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, specializing in Industrial Biotechnology. He began his labor way in the laboratory of monoclonal antibodies of the Department of microbiology, virology and immunology of the Bogomolets National Medical University (Kyiv, Ukraine). Since 2005 he works in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, going from assistant to professor of the Industrial Biotechnology Department. In 2018, he was invited to head the department of translational medical bioengineering.
Candidate’s dissertation “Biotechnology of obtaining and usage of monoclonal antibodies against human IgM” was defended in 2010. Doctor’s thesis “Biotechnology and bioanalytical standardization of immuno-enzyme diagnostics” was defended in 2016.
In the framework of scientific and scientific and technical projects, he collaborates with research institutions and enterprises, in particular with the Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the national academy of science (NAS) of Ukraine, the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine, the Lashkarev Institute of Semiconductor Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, the Gromashevsky Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) of Ukraine, the Institute of Genetic and Regenerative Medicine of the NAMS of Ukraine, UA “PRO-PHARMA” LLC, XEMA Ltd., etc.
Alexander Galkin is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the International Scientific Journal “Innovative Biosystems and Bioengineering”, as well as a member of the editorial boards of two another scientific journals ­­- “Biotechnologia Acta” and “Biomedical Engineering and Technology”.
Alexander Galkin is a member of two specialized academic councils for the defense of doctoral dissertations (at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the NAS of Ukraine).

Olena Bespalova

Associate Professor, Candidate of Biological Sciences.

Olena Bespalova is a specialist in clinical immunology, medical biotechnology and bioengineering.
She was graduated from Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Department of Microbiology and General Immunology, specialty “Immunology”. For a long period of time she worked in the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery in the Department of Clinical Immunology and in the Department of Biomedical Technology and Electromechanical Problems of the Cardiovascular System. Since 2017 she works in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, associate professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, associate professor of the Department of Translational Medical Bioengineering.
2008 – defense of the candidate’s dissertation ”The effect of general controlled hyperthermia on the state of the immune system in patients with infectious endocarditis” in the specialty “immunology”. 2013 – The academic title of senior researcher in the specialty “immunology” was – awarded.
Directions of scientific activity and interests: research of immunopathological mechanisms in cardiosurgical patients with various cardiovascular pathology.
She is co-author of more than 60 publications in scientific journals, 5 patents.

Tatyana Lutsenko
Senior Lecturer, PhD (Biotechnology, Technical Sciences).
Tatyana Lutsenko is a specialist in medical biotechnology, biomedical engineering and pharmacy. She graduated from the Department of Biotechnology of Microbial Synthesis of the National University of Food Technologies, specialty «Industrial Biotechnology». She worked at the pharmaceutical company “Biopharma” (2006-2015), going from the laboratory assistant of the department interferon to the head of the department of soft dosage forms. In 2015-19 she worked at “PRO-PHARMA” company as a biotechnologist of a group of scientific and technical developments. She studied PhD program at the Igor Sikorsky KPI. PhD thesis “Biotechnology of recombinant interleukin-7 based preparations and their standardization” (scientific supervisor – Prof. A.Yu. Galkin) was defend in 2018. Areas of scientific activities: research in the field of molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, development of pharmaceutical products of biological origin.
She is co-author of 14 scientific publications.
Valentin Mironenko

Associate Professor, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

He graduated from Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute in 1961 in the specialty “Medicine”. In 1966-79 he worked as a junior researcher at the Laboratory of Biochemistry of Nucleic Acids and Proteins of the Research Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. From 1980 to 2008 he worked as an assistant, associate professor of the Department of Normal Physiology of the Bogomolets National Medical University. Since 2009 he worked in Igor Sikorsky KPI: associate professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (2009-10), assistant professor of the Department of Biosafety and Human Health (2010-18), assistant professor of the Department of Translational Medical Bioengineering (from 2019).

He has prepared two methodological works and one training manual on physiology. He teaches disciplines: “Pathophysiology”, “Fundamentals of Human Physiology”, “Pathological Anatomy and Physiology”, “Cybernetics of Pathophysiology”.

Areas of scientific activity and interests: information, telecommunication and cybernetic problems of human health; problems of ecology and social factors and their impact on longevity and human health.

Valentyna Motronenko

Head of the laboratories

In 2012 she graduated from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biotechnology of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (specialty – “Equipment for the pharmaceutical and microbiological industry”).

In 2013-19 she worked at the Department of Biotechnics and Engineering as an engineer, assistant. Since 2019, she holds the position of head of laboratories at the Department of Translational Medical Bioengineering.
The circle of scientific interests is the study of the influence of hydrodynamic, heat and mass transfer processes during the cultivation of microorganisms on the biosynthesis of primary and secondary metabolites. She has 7 scientific publications.
